Big Lake Alaska is situated 55 minutes from downtown Anchorage and 15 minutes from Wasilla, in one of the most popular summer and winter recreational destinations in the state of Alaska.
In Summer, have your flight seeing or fly-in fishing guide pick you up and drop you off right at our dock, or request a tour of the lake on our 15-person pontoon party boat. Blue Lantern Lodge also features a private launch for your boat or jet skis. Use the lodge as your base to explore Denali National Park, Matanuska Glacier, and Knik Glacier. World-class hiking abounds in the surrounding areas.
In Winter, witness the start of the Iron Dog snowmachine race directly in front of the house, and the historic Iditarod Sled-Dog race just 10 minutes away. Enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing around the lake. At night, gather around the massive lakeside stone fire pit under the spectacular Northern Lights.
